Royal Highland Show 2018 - Working Hunter Pony!

This year there were thrills and spills a-plenty!

One of my favourites was this tiny little pony who proved that size is by no means everything, especially when it came to going fast and jumping!

This one was no less speedy, but with a rider who you'd think would have been perfect for a tinier pony!

That length of stride! O_O

I always love this moment just before takeoff - they always look so ungainly! XD

This lovely grey pair did really well...up to a point.

The grey refused a fence and absolutely would NOT go anywhere near it!

Everyone walked away safely though, and that's what really matters, though it was a shame to end their round like that. :(

Another fancy-footed pony was this one!

I love how incredibly focused the rider is...

...although I think his expression here is more along the lines of 'OMG HALP!'

This little Exmoor I'm sure I've seen in this class for a few years, and memorably threw his rider off at a fence and immediately started grazing a couple of years ago.

My suspicions were all but confirmed when after a refusal he pulled part of the jump apart and started eating it, much to the amusement of the crowd and his rider! 😂

Out of all the greys I'd seen so far, this one was by far the brightest!

This class always goes on for ages so we watched for a little longer, then moved on.

Next up, Riding Horses!
