DIY Miniature Salad Tutorial

Miniature salad tutorial - Using plastic bags, vinyl gloves, markers, plastic tubing, hot glue sticks, beads, plastic covered paper clips, a bit of paint and some sellotape.

I've been in the mood for making food recently, and after posting photos of these on Instagram and Facebook, got lots of requests for a tutorial, so here it is!

Royal Highland Show 2019

This is kind of a placeholder post as I haven’t been in the mood to type out my usual show report but at the same time I do t want to skip it this year so I’ll probably come back to it later! XD

Here’s all my photos as usual!

Lake District Julip Live 2019

While my dolls have definitely taken over as my main hobby, I still absolutely love going to Julip shows as they're always great fun and its one of the few times a year I get to hang out with groups of likeminded rubber pony people.

This year, Magda was off at a very inconveniently timed family wedding, so it was just Heather and I making the journey south to the Lake District. We'd booked the same guesthouse we stayed at last year in the seaside town of Morecambe, as it was really nice and very convenient in all respects. For a change we made it down without issue, not getting lost once, and managed to book in early so we had time to wander about Morecambe. Unfortunately our room was right at the very top so lugging multiple boxes of ponies upstairs wasn't exactly fun!

It was a glorious day, cool yet sunny - a far cry from the boiling hot experience of last year!

Pony Painting with my Pals and other Fun Stuff

Friends are great things to have in general, but friends that don't mind driving eight hours across the country to see you and play with ponies are the best.

NaMoPaiMo 2019!

I've been procrastinating more than usual recently, and as a result my documentation of this year's event has been delayed by far too long!

I filmed as I painted, so there’ll eventually be a full video tutorial on YouTube at some point once I’ve got round to editing it all!

For a project like NaMoPaiMo, success can be measured in many different ways.
For some, success can be as simple as adding paint to a model after years of no motivation, or trying out a new colour or technique. For others, it can be more specific, like finally finishing that AR you’ve been putting off painting because you lacked the confidence to even start it, or nailing the perfect dappling technique.

Everybody’s experience is entirely their own, and therefore, in the words of the inimitable Bob Ross:

’we don’t make mistakes, we make happy accidents’

That said, I made my fair share of mistakes this year, but I think the successes drowned them out overall.

The Fresh Squad Unboxing!

After what feels like forever, I finally have two of the three lads from The Fresh Squad! I wish in hindsight I’d got Anthony as well but hey-ho, I’m happy with the two I ended up with anyway!

I’d really like to do some tutorial videos and things this year, so I thought I’d do what all the cool kids are doing these days and do an unboxing video to test things out as I haven’t made any proper videos in years. (with the exception of my stopmotions) Hopefully it isn’t too cringey - even when I’m alone in the house I get myself super nervous in front of a camera and had to edit out several minutes of me forgetting how to word and going off on a tangent! XD Any future videos would likely have me behind the camera with a voiceover and not actually in the frame, but I didn’t want to faff about with the big tripod this time so you’ll just have to put up with my face! XD

Anyway, without any further ado, here it is!

I’m in full on studio tidying mode so my desk is completely obscured by craft supplies and doll clothes, so I haven’t been able to take any photos of them yet, but I’ll post something on here later hopefully as they’re very photogenic!

If there’s anything in particular you’d like to see in a future video, please let me know! I’m determined to actually get my arse in gear this year when it comes to productivity so I thought this would be a good thing to aim towards.
