Royal Highland Show 2016 - #11 - All the rest!

Pretty much everything I couldn't fit into the other posts!

Logging Horse

There's a ridiculously huge range of things to do at the RHS, from watching the show classes themselves to shopping, seeing live demos in everything from cooking to chainsaw carving, and lots more besides. I tend not to do much other than photograph ponies, but I did get to see a fair amount of interesting stuff just from wandering around!

Slippers

This is a cheese stand in the food court. You know, if you need a literal brick of cheddar. XD

Cheeeeeese!

There were a lot of Highland Cow related things this year, from vans...

...to cakes!

 Highland Cupcake!

It wasn't exactly the nicest day for it, so a lot of the indoor activities were very busy as people sheltered from the rain.

Dark skies

There were a lot of dogs in all shapes...

The collecting ring is always a good place to spot horses before they go into their respective classes.

This flashy tobiano caught our eye immediately!

I love the random tail spot!

I'm not sure which class this Highland won, but I just love the way it's greying out!

I've been wanting to make a deer stalking saddle for one of my Julips for ages now, but have struggled to find decent reference photos. Luckily there was one for sale in one of the stands so I was able to take a few snaps! (and no, I wasn't tempted to buy it - not at £950 anyway!)

We had a good giggle at these fibreglass sculptures of sheep we kept seeing outside farm related stands - clearly the sculptor had forgotten that sheep do in fact have necks!

Ouch

I leave you with a terrible pun to end my coverage of the RHS this year.

  1. That wasn't Highland, it's an Eriskay, I've got a photo of him under saddle - I've manage to see a bit of Eriskay class before you arrived :)
