One of my favourite classes at the RHS is the Working Hunter Pony - nothing beats tiny ponies zooming around and flying over rustic fences! I always like the collecting ring for photography as its a smaller space than the actual jumping arena so you've a much better chance of capturing the action than when the ponies are miles away on the other side!
This year my muse was definitely this gorgeous little grey - just look at that trot!
All her gaits were big and impressive...
...though she dished a little which isn't quite so good.
Honestly, I could have photographed her all day, she's so photogenic!
Her jumping style was equally as dramatic as the rest of her.
Another lovely bay!
Don't let anyone ever tell you that big floofy feathered horses can't jump...
Roans are one of my favourite horse colours so I definitely made a beeline for this one!
This other one won my favour slightly more though, I just love the intensity of colour!
I always love the variety in this class - as it's sectioned off by height rather than breed or type, there's a huge range of interesting ponies on show. Some are obviously crosses, others purebred and all manner of different shapes, sizes and colours.
The eyecatching chestnut from earlier was there too, and ooft, he had some jump on him!
What a chunky little beastie!
I love ponies, obviously, but ones like this with so much presence and attitude are the best.
Wheeeee!
Another lovely big floof!
This poor guy's tail bandage started unravelling halfway round which luckily didn't spook anyone else!
I took a lot more here than I anticipated, so the actual class will be up next!
