Before I do however, there is the small matter of who this Professor Lynkhart actually is. In truth, I have no idea, but I created the name Lynkhart for myself a few years ago and use it as a username on many online platforms, as well as an alias for any future steampunk shenanigans.
So for all intents and purposes, Professor Lynkhart is myself, which is rather apt seeing as I did make it all. XD
I made a little video using some of my photos and footage from my phone. It's not brilliant but it does show the whole thing in one shot which I can't capture very well with my big camera. (having a macro lens does have its disadvantages at times, heh)
Anyway, on to the shiny pictures! Some were taken at the end of year show at college, so the positioning of some of the objects are different.
(and before you ask, yes, some of them are done through Instagram but I thought the filters gave a nice sense of realness to them so that's my excuse. :P)
I just want to say a massive thank you to everyone who's left such lovely positive comments about it, it means such a lot to me. :)
So yeah, that's it...for now anyway. Now that I have it at home I can work on it whenever I like and I've got lots of ideas for new and interesting objects so watch this space!
My only issue now is finding somewhere to put it - it's massive! XD
My word, this is enough to tempt me into 1/12 scale miniatures. As if Mrs Ward Thorne hadn't already done that. I love the dragon, all the flasks, the microscope and the chair! A dragon egg incubator! Most of all the atmosphere is something you can just curl up in. Bravo, bravo, bravura!!
ReplyDelete*prods in the direction of 1/12th scale things* Do it, do it! :D
DeleteFantastic work Christine, it all looks fabulous. I love the specimen jars - awesome and a little bit freaky at the same time. So many details to take in *high five*
ReplyDeleteHaha, yeah, one of my friends refuses to look at the jars as they really freak her out! I've told her they're just bits of latex but it doesn't stop her being repulsed! I suppose I ought to take that as a compliment, lol!
DeleteI've only got one word for this: awesome!

DeleteStupendous work! You did such a great job capturing the Victorian collector's room, with just the right amount of fantasy. Congratulations on your final project!
ReplyDeleteThank you! :D
DeleteStriking the right balance between the two was tricky!
Amazing! I can totally see myself getting obsessed over making something like and I've never had any interest in a miniature house before this moment.
ReplyDeleteI might be late, but I need to say it nonetheless: this diorama is AMAZING. You're so skilled! :D Wow!
