One of *those* days...

Everything I've done today seems to have gone a bit pear shaped. (including this sentence apparently as my brain told me that I meant 'a bit square shaped' *facepalms*)

I tried to download one of the free(!) games that Sony's put up on the Playstation Store by way of an apology for the whole PSN fail earlier in the month, only it had an error at 7% complete and is now taking FOREVER to download. It's been running all day and is only at 12%. >.< By contrast, the one I downloaded yesterday took like, an hour. :/ While waiting for that, I thought I'd do a bit of customising and whilst mixing paint managed to tip the entire pot over my leg! (and was I wearing an old tatty pair of trousers at the time? No, of course not - my best pair of jeans!)

Th evidence remains on my foot...

Paint... XD

After soaking off the paint as best I could,(now wearing pajama bottoms as I couldn't find anything else! lol) I continued to paint, switching to pastels partway though as I realised I hadn't used them in a long time and I had a few bodies I'd been wanting to paint with them lying around for months. One of these was my Sarah Rose Hadrian resin which I'd had a colour picked out for, for ages. Annoyingly I had no reference photos to hand so I spent fifteen minutes trawling through my library on the computer and printing them out on photo paper for the purpose.

You can imagine my reaction when I finally sat down, ready to paint and discovered that somehow he'd lost an ear. ¬¬

By now I was raging and as a thorough search of the shelves yielded nothing, I broke out the superglue and bicarb. to fashion him a new ear. It worked far better than I'd expected and I'm pretty pleased with the result.

Hadrian - new ear

It looks huge here but I sanded it down a bit after I took this photo. XD

Once done I finally got started on the pastelling, did a few base coats...and then discovered I was out of sealer.

*flails*

Whyyyyyyyy?!

In progress...

On the plus side, I finished my G3 Arab etchie... ;)

  1. Geez, I hate those days, you have my most heartfelt compassion! Hope all is better by now. Those lively minis hopping around on your workdesk look really good and the etchie looks wonderful! So many mini-detailings in those hairs. :D

  2. Yeah, everything's back to normal now! (I hope!) XD
Cheers! It was really hard to keep all the hairs roughly in scale. DX

  6. It did! I managed to clean most of it off when it happened so that must have helped! XD
Hadrian's well on his way to being painted - he's had several coats of pastels, acrylics, more pastels...the only thing I don't like is the sealer. Horrible stuff it is, leaves a really uneven and patchy finish and is just...urgh. >.<

Doesn't sound good, which brand is it? I can't wait to see him finished, too!
Well done with the paint, I always end up with stains even if I do wash it out straight away *rolls*
